5Amazed that I have found this cap again  Aug 08, 2010 By J. Barron
I have just ordered one of these to replace one that I bought sometime in 2000 or 2001 -- as the hat has aged, I have looked and looked to find one that fit my small (for a man) head so well, and have been continuously disappointed. I really just got lucky with the original purchase -- I'd gotten used to most caps being baggy on my head, and just picked this one because it didn't have a plastic or cardboard insert at the forehead, forcing it to stand upright and look even sillier on my head. But, in the end it turned out to be the best fitting cap I've ever owned, and it's been very durable as well.

I'm actually amazed at how well made this cap is. I have worn it while cutting grass, blowing snow, and just about any other activity you can think of during the past 10 years, and it's really put up with it well. About a year ago it started transitioning into having the "distressed" look that many caps have when brand new these days, and after a recent wash it finally started coming apart in the front.

I was sure I'd never be able to replace it, since I've never been able to find one like it in a store after my original purchase -- it was a lucky purchase when I found myself vacationing at the beach without a cap.

Thanks to google and amazon I've got another one on its way to me right now -- I can't recommend this cap strongly enough.

I have a small head and most hats come down too far and cover my ears and interfere with my glasses. The only thing that would make this hat better would be if it came in smaller sizes or youth sizes and not the one size fits all. I have a fair amount of excess in the back where I pull my ponytail through, after sizing it to fit my head. It kept my head cooler than some of my other hats and didn't make my head itch as I got warm and sweaty working in the yard.

The material has a very nice soft/worn look and feel. The fit is just right for my med/large head. I like the leather strap and buckel adjustment - looks good and allows for a perfect fit. I have 5 of these hats (2 with the longer bill) and will buy more.

I've had one of these hats ever since I was 6 years old. My parents bought a hat like this (Cactus green) for me as a temporary clothing item to keep the sun out of my face. They thought it would be temporary, because it was so cheap. They got it all wrong... this hat has been with me for 12 years so far, since 1998, and I still wear it quite often. This hat has taken some MAJOR abuse over the years and surprisingly, I can still wear it. This hat has been run over by four-wheelers, blown into the ocean off the boat (thank goodness it stayed afloat long enough for us to get to it!), lost on a roller coaster ride, left at restaurants, chewed on by a Dachshund, it was even stolen off my head and carried around the yard by two Labs (they even played tug-a-war with it!). This hat has been through enough to almost be considered my journal, and it will always have a significant sentimental value to me. When the time comes that this hat is no longer wearable, I'll be ordering one just like it to replace it. I think I'll even order one for my children!
